Cylindrical multiplex rainbow holographic stereogram can synthesize various 2D images to be a 360° animated 3D image. But making this sort of hologram have to expose more than one thousand of movie films one by one in laser and transfer them to a holographic film. It has the low rate of finished products and high cost since one hologram needs a whole working day even using an automatic multiplex holographic shooting system. Hence we present a solution to manufacture this kind of hologram in batches by using copying system for multiplex rainbow holographic stereogram. The system adopt contact-copying method which is suit for bit batch copying, i.e. joint the original holographic film and the copying holographic film tightly and then illuminate both of them to get replicated multiplex synthetic rainbow holographic stereogram. This paper experimentally and theoretically investigated the methods to improve the image quality of contact-copying hologram in the course of replicating multiplex rainbow holographic stereogram.As the simulations of multiplex rainbow holographic original stereogram, unit holograms taken with Russia films were analyzed. Situations in satisfying the highest diffraction efficiency of these unit holograms were presented. Noise caused by dispersion and diffusion of light when reconstruct holograms was measured. The curves of the diffraction efficiency and the exposure versus the intensity of noise were also presented. The influence on the diffraction efficiency and the noise of diffusion was discussed when use dimethylbenzene and saturated sucrose solution as matching liquid. And the angular excursion of the reconstructed light beam caused by the two kinds of matching liquid was discussed in this paper. Based on holographic reproduction theory, the shape of the reflector in the copying system was improved, which was designed by computer.
