The Study On The Integration Of The Heterogeneous Geographical Information Web Services

Since the first geographical information system CGIS in the world appeared in 1963, GIS has been already widely used. Every department design and set up spatial database of department according to the needs of oneself. These Databases are different in the content and source of data, spatial data model and the software platform. Which has caused all data from different databases to isolate each other, and produces the phenomenon of " detached island of information ". At present, the heterogeneous spatial data has already restricted and hindered the further application in every department of GIS seriously, delayed the popular development of GIS. This article has put forward the different thinking of integrating of the data by using the Web Service technology. Pack existing GIS data to the Web services, request and integrate the data, By Which solve the problem of heterogeneous data, realize the sharing of resources and interoperation.This article has researched the technology of integrating the he of the heterogeneous spatial data. Include the following several respect mainly:(1) Have studied the current situation of geographical information sharing and interoperation, Get out of the method of integrating the heterogeneous spatial data using the Web Service technology.(2) Have studied the relevant theories of Web service, the Web Service technology and standards of the heterogeneous geography information. The frame and the agreement of Web Service mainly have been studied in the part of the Web Service technology of the heterogeneous geography information. And all of the Versions of OGC Web Map Service, Web Feature Service and Web Coverage Service implementation specification are studied in the part of The Web Service standards of the heterogeneous geography information. And introduced the interfaces' definition of WMS1.3.0, WFS1.0.0 and WCS1.0.0 in detail.(3) Have studied and practiced the method of GeoStar, GeoSurf, ArcIMS and MapXtreme software to realize the WMS, WFS and WCS. And provide the method to release Web service on Microsoft UDDI registration center.(4) Have studied and developed the Client for integrating the heterogeneous geographical information providing by different Web services. Including the method of looking for Web service in UDDI registration center, the method of obtaining the geographical data offered by different Web Services, the method of obtaining the geographical data offered by the Web Services which realized using differentsoftware, and the method of integrating the geographical data offered by the WMS, WFS and WCS which realized using different software.Through studying and practicing, this article has realized the sharing and interoperation of the heterogeneous geographical information on the level of the grammar. Which is the foundation of realizing the sharing and interoperation of the heterogeneous geographical information on the level of the semantics.
