Based on the advanced method of studying inorganic carbon, we measured the chemical parameters in September, 2003, April, 2004 and September, 2004 in Huanghe estuary. The variation of IC, Alk in the fresh-sea water mixing process and its cause are the emphasises. The main conclusions are followed:1. In the Spring of 2004,the relationship between TSS and salinity is negative correlation. When salinity is 0~15‰, with the fresh-saltwater mixing, TSS decrease rapidlly to 200mg/L. But when salinity is above 15‰,TSS is 100~200mg/L.On the other hand, POC% increase with the increasing of TSS, this suggests that the variation about POC and TSS is synchronous in the begin phase of fresh-sea water mixing process.2. During the flood period, TSS decrease from bottom bed to surface layer.From estuary to main sea, PIC% decrease.But to DIC,the case is converse.The relationship between TSS and salinity is negative correlation,and between PIC% and TSS is quadratic curve:when TSS is more than 50~60mg/L PIC% decrease;when TSS is below 50~60mg/L, PIC% increase in a small degree.Because of the influence from Huanghe water,in the process of fresh-sea water mixing, pH increase with the increasing of salinity.3. During the period of xiaobei main flow moving-sand, there is a freshwater zonewith low salinity and low TSS near east longitude 119.31°. Here, salinity is below10%o, and TSS is below 50mg/L.This leads TSS increase with the increasing of salinity. Due to the sediment ejection of Xiaobei main flow, when TSS is below 100mg/L, PIC% decrease with the increasing of TSS concentration; But when TSS is above 100mg/L, there is almost no variation with PIC%.4. The non-conservative behavior of TAlk in Huanghe estuary: In April, 2004, when salinity is below 24%o, the behavior of TAlk is non-conservative.
