Structures build like a cylinder or cylinder groups are most popular today, for example, the mask of ship is widely designed like a cone-shaped cylinder in order to be invisible for the radar. With the change of shape, the strength and dynamic performance of the mask has greatly changed especially for the specially shape, the air force acting on it is quite different under different attack angles. So the research of hydrodynamic force acting on a cone-shaped rectangular cylinder has some reference value.The research has been done under the help of CFD soft CFX 5.7 . Two turbulence model LES and k-ε have been used to calculate the flow around the circinal cylinder under some same conditions, such as the calculate model, calculate time, interval time, gride and so on. The difference between the two results has been compared. At last, k-ε turbulence model has been choosed to do some research about the flow around the mast, and compared the difference between the experiment result.
