In the harbor, coast and offshore engineering, many pivotal components have thecircular cylinder shape such as the drill pipe of deep sea drilling platform, theSubmarine oil pipeline,the bridge pier and so on. The phenomenon which thethree-dimensional circular cylinder destroyed by the force of wave often happens insteady flow. Many scholars abroad take the primary research, but the numericalsimulation and the experimental research are very few on this problem at home.According to this, the research of the forces acted on the circular cylinder no matterhow the ocean engineering applications and theoretical research has very highpractical value.Using computational fluid dynamics software CFD, this paper numericalsimulated the vertical horizontal hydrodynamic and around a vertical shaft torqueproblems of the radius of4meters column,mainly discussed different wave numberand depth in different product (kd=1.79,2.96,3.35), different depth ratio (T/d=0.25,0.5,0.75) of the cases. The research work is summarized as follows:1) The size of three-dimensional circular cylinder, wave parameter,ratio of laiddepth and water depth and the sizes of mesh which are builded by Gambit.2) All of instances are defined and computed by CFD software. The process ofmoving wall is compiled in C language by UDF measure.3) Discussed the rule of wave in different conditions and analyzed the reason ofit.4) Compared date with one in book and analyzed error. Validated the feasibilityof the way of numerical simulation and the measures used in this paper.
