The basic theory of edge element method and its application in 3-D nonlinear eddy current field are researched in this paper. Solving the 3D eddy current field problem with the edge finite element method in terms of the non-gauged variable results in a singular matrix equation. The correlative problems of the BICG method can be used to solving the compatible singular systems are proved. The correlative problems of edge element method in team of E are proved. The method is achieved by C++ and Visual Lisp. The method is validated by computing the TEAM Problem 21.The cross list structure is modified and a new data structure is presented. The results show that new structure can reduce the memory requirement by 25% and the CPU time by 20%.
