COMGIS Technology And Application In The Railway Container Geographic Information System

Geographic Information System ( GIS ) , a special field of Information Technologies (IT), is an information system has wide application in many professional fields, such as resources management, bank, establishment management, traffic transport system, weather forecast etc. It plays a more and more important role in the Information world. Traditional GIS belongs to independent and occluded system which could not provide corresponding application system according to different consumer's demand. Further more it's development mode is mostly based on it's own twice development language which restrict it's function and application. These restrict traditional GIS to develop and apply further at great degree. Componets GIS, briefly called COMGIS, is a new generation of GIS based on Components Software. Componets GIS which can resolve the problems traditional GIS faced with is a new technology system.COM technology has become the standard in the computer field, consumer can use COMGIS components as the other ActiveX components. General users without special knowledge of GIS can develop and integrate GIS. These promote the popularity of GIS.In this thesis, the author introduces the development of GIS and the basic concept and system configuration of GIS .Then analyses several twice development modes based on GIS, confirms component GIS(COMGIS) as development method in this project. Then compares one GIS component popular at present with another, establishes MapX as the GIS component to use and discusses the correlation technology of MapX. Finally this thesis provides the method to develop railway container crunode station GIS with VC and MapX, analyzes and introduces the process of development protracting vector map and the design of spatial database and attribute database.
