Based on geographic information system (GIS) technology, the automatic navigationsystem combines computer technology, GIS technology, GPS technology and othercomprehensive application, while And its main software platform operating path optimizationsystem is currently little research. GIS-based automatic navigation path optimization systemin agricultural production can reduce costs, increase productivity, develop high-quality highefficiencyagriculture, and therefore the field of precision agriculture has major researchsignificance. The paper first explicitly adopted GIS components MapX, did a analysis to the complexpolygon field plots of the characteristics, researched the fast decomposition algorithm for plotsof the concave polygon into the convex polygon, proposed four kinds of coverage pathoptimization algorithm in the convex polygon-wide. Secondly, when the polygonal obstaclesexist in the land, in accordance with the size of obstacles put forward two kinds of obstacleavoidance algorithm for optimal path. Finally, with the GIS component MapX displayed thepath optimization results in the interface and export coordinates information.Mapx-based polygon algorithm for rapid decomposition had been programmed withVisual C + + language and simplified the path optimization object of study. A obstacleavoidance algorithm of the optimal path had been programmed and solved the problem of thefarm operating machinery's avoiding obstacles. According to the four kinds of needs, theminimum consumption, minimum turns, the shortest total path and path to the largest share offield, the corresponding algorithms had been programmed respectively. The information ofresulting path points will apply in the tractor's automatic navigation and achieve the optimumoperation.
