In recent years, the development of exhibition conservatory has been increasing in China, but the environmental study of the exhibition conservatories has only yet been commencing. This paper study on the case of The Tropical Conservatory in Beijing Botanical Garden, the typical modern exhibition conservatory in China, includes the environmental control on the rainforest zone, the desert zone, the palm zone, and other zones.1. From 2002 to 2004, the climate inside the conservatory and the horticulture observation show that the environment in the conservatory is stable with tropical plants growing rapidly under Beijing's' climate and also interprets the tropical landscape effects. Even so, the rapid growth of plants creates a disadvantage as it gives birth to new trouble in the conservatory.2. The aim of the environment control of the exhibition conservatories is to maintain the growth of plants but to optimize the environment for plants such as in the commercial greenhouses. The environment control mechanism for the conservatories is explored, by information collection of plants behavior, landscape of tropic, tropic climate, and environment in climate zones.3. Large windows under the weigh of more than 100 kg are a burden to operate. With transforming the openers, a new type of synchronous controller was developed, and used for the desert zone.4. The environment control for the tropical conservatory in Beijing needs dynamic arrangement by staff. The arrangement mode includes adjustment of the setting of value configurations and logic converting according to the period of solstice with daytime adjustment.
