| Abstract: This study is the first one among current studies investigating the high-rise development of Urban Manmade Landform (UML) , which puts up the conceptual framework of Central Business District in Urban Manmade Landform, abbreviated thereafter as UML—CBD .It is a special place creating strong image of a city. This area contains a large number of high-rise skyscrapers, prime metropolitan real estate and high-speed transit system.The UML—CBD skyline becomes mental signature for a particular city. In different regions and counties, UML—CBD has its different physical structures. So the form, function and spatial development of UML—CBD is the main object of this thesis. Based on the historical and comparative analyze method, this thesis analyses the different features of UML—CBD in different historical periods and in different county and cities. After comparing UML—CBD high-rise development and different expanding pattern between western developed cities with Chinese cities, this thesis also explores the mechanism analysis of UML—CBD development. In the quantitative analysis of this paper,we aims to analyze this variable and dynamic phenomena during the process of urbanization by the application of modification to urban allometric growth model and C-D function which is used widely in the research of urban geography. The method for urban allmetric growth analysis can be further modified to ensure that this method focus more attention to urban vertical growth. In this paper, we introduce a new variable representing for urban vertical growth, and take Dalian City as an empirical evidence implication. Set up the nonlinear allometric growth functions:A(t)=aP(t)b , Aâˆhd,H(t)=aP(t)b/d, Y=ηPd1Ad2,combine the urban area sprawling with urban vertical spatial growth together, analyzing the nonlinear allometric growth interactions among these urban spatial factors and urban populate size. I think this work will contribute to understand the concept of fractal urban space and the structure of urban dynamic system more clearly. |
