The present dissertation deals with the Faunal components and distribution characteristics of spiders from Mt Huping Natural Reserve. Statistical analysis of the vertical distribution of spiders in the main peak of Mt Huping Natural Reserve is provided. The natural historic physiognomy and the research of biodiversity are briefly introduced. A total of 265 species of spiders belonging 123 genera, 32 families are recorded from Mt Huping Natural Reserve, of which, 10 are new to science (2 new have been published), and 1 new to China. Smodicinous hupingensis is the first representative of the genus from China. Detailed descriptions in Chinese and English abstracts are given to each new species and new-recorded species. Based on the statistic analysis of spider specimens deposited in our laboratory and collected from Mt Huping Natural Reserve, it is found that: Faunal components of Mt Huping mainly are Oriental species, including some Palaearctic ones and some old rare unique species. The list of spiders from Mt Huping Natural Reserve is given as an appendix. A total 47 figures in 12 plates are provided.
