Study Of The Engineering Property Of Red-bed In Hefei City

The deposition and the distribution of the red-bed were controlled by the fault structures and the neotectonism, and the environment had big affections. Collecting and sorting lots of information abort boring in Hefei City and other data, the equal-depth map and the engineering geological zone of the red-bed of Hefei City were made. The affecting factors of rock's strength were analyzed, and the theories at present were compared with each other. Furthermore, lots of tests about the rock's intensity had been done; the tests showed that the unit weight and the water content affected the intensity of the red-bed rock. Analyzed the bad engineering geological character and its reason. According to the red-bed rock's embedment depth, thickness of the weathered zone and its mechanical strength, the zone of Hefei City's red-bed were made. The conclusions were favorable to city planning and building.
