The present paper is a thesis for the degree of M.S., which deals with the taxonomy of the subfamily Stenopodainae (Heteroptera: Reduviidae) from China.In this thesis, general morphological and biological characters of Stenopodainae are given. 36 species belonging to 11 genera are described, including 4 new species, i.e., Pygolampis choui sp. nov., Pygolampis jiangchengensis sp. nov., Pygolampis crassiantenna sp. nov., Duriocoris yunnanensis sp. nov., and a new record species, Duriocoris serratus Miller, from china. The diagnostic features, such as pubescence, tubercles and spines, and measurements of body and appendages are described and figured. The geographical distribution of all species is also given.In the section of results and discussion, the comparative study and the relationship among related genera are discussed. The fauna analysis is given. The key to the genera of Chinese Stenopodainae and keys to species of each genus are given.The types of new species are deposited in the Entomological Museum of China Agricultural University.
