From the views of landscape ecology, the paper discusses the spatial pattern of the fragile karst landscape and Chooses Guiyang as the research area, because of two reasons, one that it is in the transition of landscape ecosystem from the city to village, and the other that it is a typical fragile karst area. With the geo-spatial information technique as the background and "3S" (GIS, GPS & RS) techniques as the support, this paper applies with such software as ArcGIS, ArcView3. 2, ERDAS, Patch Analyst2.0 and SPSS.With CBERS-1 data in 2001 as the data source, this paper compares its quality with that of TM data in 2000, and its application with that of TM data in 1991, both of which are feasible.Based on fieldwork, this paper emphasizes on researches on remote sensing image processing and remote sensing cognition of landscape. As to landscape classification, this paper, by means of enhancement of histogram equalization and crisp proceeding, sets up three supervised classifications, (one is the classification by symbol interpretation, the second is theclassification by vegetation index, and the third is theclassification after normalization.) and then chooses merging images to raise accuracy of interpretation. For interpretation of the quarry, this paper mainly discusses ways of the best band combination: one is the means of band combination and the other is the means of principal component analysis. According to experimental effects, this paper selects the latter means, with supervised and unsupervised classifications and the manual amendment, to finish the interpretation. On the basis of spatial theories of landscape ecology and landscape database by ArcView3.2, this paper carries on a quantitative analysis of landscape pattern. Firstly, the paper analyzes its forming process, reason and mechanism, then reveals controling factors and essential power of its formation and development. Secondly, through the analysis in the index system, the paper discusses patch types and their components in space, then analyzes, judges and assesses ecological characteristics of landscape to reveal the law of landscope distribution in space and to get an importance effect on pattern research in landscape classifications. At last, this paper carries on the following spatial analyses: 1. By means of Distance and R - Cluster analyses, this paper discusses the quality, intensity and ways of interaction among landscape types; By means of Simple and PartialCorrelation analyses between landscape types and population density, this paper expresses the decisive effect, in landscape patterns, is made not by human activities but by human interference as principle; By means of correlation analyses of pattern indexes and levels of urbanization, this paper points out some pattern indexes , to a certain extent, decide on the developing levels of urbanization. 2. With height and slope as representative factors and by launching the study to the ecological meaning of geomorphic landscape, this paper concludes the geomorphic gradient plays a controlling part in landscape patterns. 3. Obtaining three-dimensional data from the geographical diagram, this paper, by means of ERDAS, realizes the surface modeling, analog fly-through and animation creating, giving the real-time alternant ability between the person and the stereoscopic actual landscape to realize the visibility analysis of landscape patters.Proceeded to the discussion about the typical landscape of human interference, this paper carries on analyses on spatial distribution regulation, dynamic developing trend and road buffer area of the quarry landscape in 1991-2001 years and makes an initial survey on the application of space- time evolvement of information diagrams in the quarry. Finally, by means of Structure analysis, this paper ascertains weights of the evaluating factors, and computes out overall evaluating indexes of landscape in the GRID method. At the same time, this paper evaluates the present situation of the landscape patterns, and puts forward an optimum project...
