| Along with the development of technologies, the kernel of GIS has changed from spatial data to information integration spatial analysis and deGISion-supporting. The components provide opening structure and standard data access for the spatial analysis of GIS. We can predict that under the support of components, all kinds of spatial analysis models, which will become the heart of the GIS, can enter the GIS software easily and smoothly.Within the support of National 863 project "the demonstrational using of 3S technology in signiFicant trades -tourism (2002AA1340746)" , this paper not only discussed the spatial analysis of GIS based on components, but also used the Best Route Model, which is in the form of COM component , to select tourism route. The whole paper consists of six chapters.Chapter 1: Through the level of spatial analysis and the development of spatial analysis models, this chapter introduced the spatial analysis in GIS, emphasized on the spatial analysis based on components, and pointed out the significance of the research on spatial analysis components.Chapter 2: This chapter probes into the researching categories and data models of Best Route Issue from three angles, they are the basic concepts, searching strategies and storing structures.Chapter 3: This chapter combined the spatial analysis models of GIS, which based on component technology, with the design and development of "consultation information system for tourism of Beijing" . The detailed design of Best Route Component on functions and structures is based on the in-depth requirements analysisChapter 4: This chapter described the developing tools,kernel arithmetic and the realization of component interfaces.Chapter 5: The "consultation information system for tourism of Beijing" takes the best route component into the design and development of the best route selection in tourism.Chapter 6: This chapter discussed the achievements and problems, whichexisted during the whole researching procedure.
