Brine shrimp (Artemia) is widely distributed in inner land salt lake and coasting saltworks, it belongs to Crustacea, Branchiopoda, Anostacea, Artemidae, Artemia. On the Artemia from China, some attentions have been paid to its morphology(Huang M.X. 1980,Cai S.L.etal 1989,Cai Y.N.etal 1986,1989,Hou L. 1989); developmental biology (Liao C.Y.etal 1990,1993); ecology(Xiu Z.K.etal 1992,Jia Q.X.etal 1995); resources biology (Hou L.etal 1991); genetics(King C.E.etal 1988,Wang R.X.etal 1991,Zhang R.S.etal 1991,Cai H.J.etal 1991,Hou L.etal 1993,1997,1998,Gao M.J.etal 1994,1995) up to date. But, little studies on the taxology, molecular population genetics of ten A.parthenogenetica from China were investigated, more studies need us to finish. Therefore, in the study, allelic frequencies of polymorphic loci, the number of loci, genetic identity of gene genetic distances, polymorphisms in genome and cluster analysis of different geographic strains of A.parthenogenetica from China were studiedby means of random amplified polymorphic DNA(RAPD) and ISSR(Inter Simple Sequence Repeat ). The experimental results were showed in the following.The ten A.parthenogenetica strains from China were amplified with 40 selected primers of 10 bp using optimized RAPD technique. The results of RAPD were that 371 of 422 loci detected were polymorphic, amounting to 87.95%. The 422 loci were analyzed by Popgene32 software packet and the phylogenetic tree was constructed by UPGMA method. It was discovered that the ten A.parthenogenetica strains from China can be divided into three group by genetic identity, first group was the group from Balikun (Xinjiang prov.) and Gahai(Qingdao prov.), second group was group from Aibi lake (Xinjiang prov.), third group was group including strains from Liaoning prov., Shandong prov. and Hebei prov..ISSR DNA Finger Prints was utilized to investigate the phylogenetic relationship among ten A.parthenogenetica strains. The genome DNA of ten A.parthenogenetica strains were amplified using 14 ISSR primers, the data of results were studied using statistic methods we have mentioned. It showed that (1) there were 156 polymorphic loci among the 170 ISSR loci;(2) ten A.parthenogenetica strains can be divided into three group, just the same as the results of RAPD.On account of the fact, the results of morphological study are subject to the environmental changes. The results of study on genomic DNA are relatively stable. RAPD & ISSR researches with this advantage will possibly be a trend in the invertebrate zoological field. The results of this paper have provides some important and valuable data to phylogenetic research of A.parthenogenetica from China.
