Energy variational method is adopted to analyze the cable-stayed construction and the cable suspended cantilever construction in this paper. In the static and dynamic analysis of cable-stayed construction, Cosine function is adopted to the displacement function of main frame, and it takes Vibration-shape function as displacement function of tower tube. As the method uses energy variational method to solve the function, it makes full use of the orthogonal quality of Vibration-shape function, and the calculating formula is very simple, so the method can avoid complicated calculation of traditional simplified methods. In the static and dynamic analysis of cable suspended cantilever construction, the displacement function of cable is made up of Combine-Legendre polynomial. With taking advantage of its orthogonal quality, the method can get both calculating pattern conveniently, and acceptable result of preliminary calculation. Above methods applies to analyzing the large-span cable structure. Energy variational method is an approximate computational method. And in calculation the effect of spatial structure is considered as safety reserve. The methods of this paper can be utilized in the preliminary design of scheme, and they also can make qualificationcomparison to the computer's result in working diagram design. Finally, several examples are given to demonstrate that two methods not only are simple but also have high accuracy. It proves that they are effective and economical methods.
