Selecting spirulina as biologic carrier, effects of S (IV) -, Se (IV) and Te (IV) on the growth and spectrum characteristic of two kinds of freshwater spirulinas, the toxicity of Se (IV) and Te (IV) on spirulina and the two elements bioaccumulated by spirulina were studied in this paper. Some important results are as follows:First of all, in this paper the spectrum characteristic of two kinds of freshwater spirulinas, which was under or not under the stress of Se (IV) or Te (IV), were studied. It showed that the UV spectrums of two kinds of spirulinas were almost the same, and there were little difference between these spectra and the spectra of spirulina of seawater type. There was also little difference between two kinds of spirulinas on fluorescence spectrum or on the IR, but there was biggish difference on fluorescence spectrum between freshwater and seawater spirulina. It had different emission peak when excitation peak was 440 nm or 580 nm on the fluorescence spectrum of different types of spirulina. Otherwise, in the research it showed that the relativity between the OD value of live body of spirulinas at three different wavelength : 560, 620 or 680 nm and biomass of spirulinas were good. And it may be used for determinating the biomass of spirulina.Secondly, it showed that the difference of toxicity between Se (IV) and Te (IV) to spirulina was little than to yeast through the research. So it suggested that the tolerant ability of different species to Se (IV) and Te (IV) is different.Thirdly, through studying different methods of adding inorganic form of Se (IV) or Te (IV), it showed that the method of adding Se (IV) or Te (IV) time after time is good for improving the tolerant ability of spirulina to Se (IV) or Te (IV). Under the condition of the total concentration of Se (IV) or Te (IV) reaching 800 mg/L, the method of adding 25 > 50, 75, 100, 125, 150, 175, 100 mg/L Se (IV) or Te (IV) each day from the 1st to the eighth day was good for the growth of spirulinas, because this method accorded with the rule of biomass increasing and Se or Te bioaccumulating in spirulina, and toxicity of high concentration of Se (IV) or Te (IV)when adding in this way to spirulina was least.Fourthly, effects of any two elements of S (IV), Se (IV) and Te (IV) in S family on the growth of S. maximum and S. platensis were investigated. It showed that S (IV) had detoxification function to the toxicity of Se (IV) and Te (IV), and Se (IV) had the same function to Te (IV) to some degree under the concentration rang of experiment. But the detoxification function of S (IV) or Se (IV) to Te (IV) is less than that of S (IV) to Se (IV), and there was also much difference between different kinds of spirulinas.
