As an important part of the morph-functional research of animals, the diversity of hair micro-structure is of significance for the discovery of species adaptation and evolution. Hair structural diversity provides parameters to interpret the divergent adaptation and evolution tendency in different ecocommunities. Physical principles introduced probed into the interpretation of the mechanism that the hair microstructure forms and the relatedness between structure and function, animal behavior and ecology. This paper takes hairs of various species as material, namely mink, Siberian weasel, lesser weasel, brown bear, red fox, roe deer, sika deer and Tibetan gazelle, to observe the morphology of hair scales and measure the medullary parameters. The following questions were answered: 1) the identity and diversity of hair scale morphology, 2) diversity of inner root sheath morphology, 3) the diversity of hair scales morphology and medullary parameter varies with the difference in latitude, season, and body part where the hair was sampled. The results showed: In the upper hairs, the scale morphology is closely related to the shape of the hair. Very few types of hair scale shapes have been observed in linear and tapered hairs, while much more types were found in spindle hairs. The inner root sheath forms the shape complimentary to the hair. In the under hairs, a significant diversity of hair scale morphology were found. The type of Complex Wave formed due to the abrasion is very divergently shaped. The medullary parameter of some species differs with the latitude, season, and body part where the hair was sampled. It suggests that the medullary parameter is related to the function of hair. The morphology of hair not only differs with the species, but with the environment factors and adaptation countermeasures. Species identification will be biased if only based on the hair morphology alone. Only combining the hair morphology, hair function, environmental factors and animal behavior would the species identification be more scientific, accurate and reliable. Hair is a part of animal body, die requirement of the functions generates the diversity of its morphology. Therefore, The diversity of hair is not only exhibited in the species divergence, but also in the process of the dynamic adaptations.
