| There are two kinds of data form for map data ,one is in the raster form ,the other is the vector one. After common contour map data is studied and analyzed deeply , a complementary watermarking algorithm is proposed. The algorithm takes advantage of the merits of the watermarks both in low frequency and high frequency and can embed more information with less distortion. Experimental results show the algorithm is robust to many common image operations. As for the vector map data, an uniform model of embeding watermark for vector maps and raster maps is proposed after current trend of research and watermarking methods of 3-D vector images are summarized, primary study results show the model is effective and promising to further research.The work of the paper is supported by the natural science fund No.990816 and N0.000844 in Guangdong.
