Analysis And Assessment On Landscape Spatial Pattern Of Fenglin National Natural Reserve

Based on forest type map (1:25000), digitized terrain map (1:50000) and forest resources inventory data of 1997, combining vegetation, disturbance and genesis features, 20 landscape types were divided in Fenglin Natural Reserve, Heilongjiang Province. Supported by the GIS software Arc View, the landscape spatial pattern of the region was analyzed and assessed using landscape ecological principles. The landscape indices were calculated such as the size of patches, fractal dimension of patches, diversity, dominance, fragmentation, nearest neighbor index. Using DEM, the gradient map, the aspect map and the elevation map were extracted and overlaid by GIS. The result showed that the study area was the typical primary broad- leaved Korean Pine forests landscape and wasn抰 disturbed by the human. The primary forest landscape types has the higher diversity, fragmentation and random patterns; the secondary landscape forest has the reverse results. The distribution of forest landscape was mainly influenced by the position on slope and altitude. This study paved a way for the planning of the sustainable management and the protection of the bio-diversity.
