Development Of GIS Based Shantou Building &map Database And Its Display&management System

Geographic Information System(GJS)is a special field of Information Technologies(IT).With the high speed of development in the field of Computer sciense and Geography,it plays a more and more important role in the information age we now creating.This dissertation introduces the development of GIS and the application of GIS. It discusses in detail the system database design of the GIS,establishing of Shantou building database based on GIS, establishing of Shantou spatial database and data analysis,developping of the display and management system for the Shantou building database.Accomplish the base database of Shantou GIS.By the advanced ways of spatial analysis,we build a set of special topic maps of the Urban cornpostive information.The developping of base database and its display and management system of Shantou GIS is helpful for the building of whole Shantou GIS.
