With the development of technology, Non-Metric Camera has been widely used in practice depending on its low price, facility, portable character and so on. But it does not have specialized equipment which can accurately determine the interior azimuth elements or provide some correlative datas, the arrangement of lens groups is not strictly correct, sometimes it has optical defect such as distortion et, As a result, analytical calculations can not be directly carried out on image aspect. So, in order to ensure high measurement accuracy during the photogrammetric process, we must accurately check up all the parameters of the camera before, Camera parameter is one of the factors that can affect the accuracy of the calculated results. Calibration quality of camera parameters is a key problem to guarantee whether the result quality can meet the precision request or not.There are many ways for ordinary digital camera calibration,generally we should have sufficient numbers of control points around the object when doing camera calibration, but in case of lack of control points or under the request of high precision surveying, we need to select the right calibration method according to actual situation so as to meet the requirements of the specific measurement tasks. This article is based on the vanishing point′s several major properties, to find out the geometric relationship between the vanishing points and the interior orientation elements, deduce the model according to the relationship between the vanishing points and the observation line, directly establish the relational model between the calibration parameters and the linear information based on the vanishing points. Then by using the obtained experimentation data, compile routine to compute the model through the adjustment way, determine the orientation elements and optical distortion and so on, and at last achieve the digital camera calibration.The method in this theses has no need to do high-precision control field, is with floor price, and at the same time can avoid the risk of the measurement environment. It is a new method for doing camera calibration by calculating the pixel's coordinates. According to the existing theories, combine with the actual needs, compare with the general camera calibration method, take the mature and widely used method as reference, to analysis and evaluate the result's accuracy. Experimental results show that the camera calibration based on vanishing points is feasible and reliable.
