The phenomenon of geological disasters in mine of China become more serious with the continuous exploitation of coal resources, especially central and western regions of China are particularly evident. It's the major event that the relevant departments of state have gradually concerned the current mining work of prevention and research in geological disasters. It is also directly related to national economic development and people's lives and property.From the standpoint of designing geographical information systems in this thesis, master the information in geological disasters by making full use of computer technology, and the purpose is that prevent, cure and manage geological disasters in mine. Combined with the practical geological environment and mine geological disasters in Tongchuan city, design mine geological disaster management information system based GIS software platform by computer technology. The system designed have some functions that input, storage, query, analysis and output geological hazard information, and so on, It is conducive to carry out local mine geological disaster prevention and planning. It can also data of unified storage management, data integration network management and applications; achieve that concentrate storage geological disasters, unified management, fast search, easy access, and information sharing. So as to provide complete information and data for geological hazards investigation, monitoring, treatment and daily management; provide a reliable basis for formulating accident plan; provide information sharing directly for the survey and design units and all levels of government administration.The geographic information system designed using object-oriented programming language, and make full use of the ArcGISEngine to build, which have components that basic graphics operations, data editing, graphic display, spatial analysis and so on. It can effectively improve the development efficiency in application of geographic information system , and has a good user interface and perfect the function module.
