After many years of exploration and development, Zhouzhuang region has entered highwater cut period, stable yields and increasing production are restricted and newly developedarea is needed to succeed. To further find out the control factors of hydrocarbon accumulation,specify the next exploration targets, research about the effect of fault on hydrocarbonaccumulation is carried out in the area.According to the comprehensive information of geology, seismic interpretation and welllog data, under the guidance of multi-subject theory, on the basis of regional tectonic analysis,the author studies the structural evolution of Zhouzhuang region, illustrates the area's majorfaults characteristics and structural styles, and also illustrates the configuration of faultactivity period and hydrocarbon migration and accumulation period. According to geologicalconditions of the study area, the author thoroughly studies the sealing of three of the mastercontrol faults, illustrates the sealing characteristics of the master faults and its intrinsic linkwith oil and gas accumulation. Finally, the author evaluates the reservoir conditions,combined with fault sealing evaluation results, comprehensive evaluates the effect of faults onhydrocarbon accumulation.Through the study of SGR,lithology configuration,fault zone clay content and pressure,the author thoroughly analysizes the vertical and lateral sealing characteristics of the masterfaults. Evaluation shows that Zhouzhuang region has large fault displacement, long extendedfaults, many sandstone-mudstone or mudstone-mudstone contacts, and sandstone is easy toform shale smear. It also shows that fault zone has great clay content and fault section standsgreat compressive stress, so sealing is good overall. Lateral sealing of Wu 1 fault is graduallychanges for the better from bottom to top, lateral sealing of F1 fault has the trend of good--relatively good--good from bottom to top, lateral sealing of F2 fault gradually changesfor the worse from bottom to top. The vertical fault sealing evaluation results show that, thefault sealing increases with depth, gradually getting better. Lateral and vertical, the relativelow angle of dip fault (F1 fault) has better fault sealing than high low angle of dip faults (Wu1 and F2 fault). The distribution law of oil and gas is controlled by fault zone. The formationand evolution of fault control the generation and distribution of oil source rock and reservoir,it also controls the forming of the trap. The fault is not only a good channel for verticalmigration of oil and gas, but also has a good sealing function for the reservoir. The results ofthe study area are important not only for theoretical and practical value, but also haveimportant guiding significance for other areas in relevant research.
