Around the world the digital city information construction expands as a raging fire. The data digitization exceptionally simplified the workflow, improved the work efficiency, and promoted the pace of social progress. However, due to various aspects of urban construction are carried out by different functional departments and units, the data in different information systems cannot be effectively shared with each other. Also the duplication of data and system construction is common, resulting in significant resources waste. At the same time, nonstandard built systems, interaction and sharing incapability and data source and data model differences impeded the digital city development and the informatization process of the country as a whole. To sum up, the city information sharing implementation is the key stage of the digital city information construction. Since the urban geo-spatial data is the basis of the city Information, the digital city information construction should start with the urban geo-spatial data sharing platform.Based on the successful story of Qingdao Geo-spatial Data Sharing Platform development and my own experience from the current research and real project implementation, this thesis covers the research of the basic theory, technical basis, key technologies, system architecture, sharing specification construction, database development, functionality design, application platform and system implementation of the geo-spatial data sharing platform. With web GIS, web services, Ajax, spatial database engine and network data security technologies, the thesis designs the framework and functionality models of the geo-spatial data sharing platform management system and government application platform, develops the construction, maintenance and management standards of the geo-spatial data sharing platform, provides the reference standards for future related information system development, devises the geo-framework sharing database design elements, solves the common multi-source heterogeneity issue in the geo-spatial data sharing construction, creates a typical example of providing data service and information management platform for the government, enterprises and the public, and accelerates the Qingdao digital city information construction pace. The research outcome could be used as a reference for other cities'geo-spatial data sharing platform construction.
