Bioelectromagnetics is the interdisciplinary of electromagnetism and biomedicine. In particular, it is considered as a critical field and has received significant interest over the last decades. Because of the diversity of different biological tissues in electromagnetic properties, we can obtain the anatomical and pathological information by measurement of the bio-electromagnetic properties. Study on measurement of the bio-electromagnetic properties provided information for diagnose, and is the base of safeguard against electromagnetic radiation. This dissertation is a part of National University of Defense Technology Scientific Research Project:"Research on the Electromagnetic Properties of Biological Tissues". For the purpose of research on the measurement of the bio-electromagnetic properties, our investigation concentrates on three fields: electrical bioimpedance measurement, microwave near-field measurement and imaging and estimate of bio-electromagnetic properties. The thesis is composed of four parts. The first part introduces the conception, actuality and futures of the electrical bioimpedance measurement, microwave near-field measurement and imaging, estimate of bio-electromagnetic properties. The second part, the electrical properties and the magnetic properties of biological tissues are investigated. Then make a summary of the electrical bioimpedance measurement. The third part researches the microwave near-field measurement and imaging. We take the detection of breast cancer as an example. Then the differences between normal breast tissue and malignant tissues were analyzed. Under the microwave band, these differences in dielectric and conductivity were all above five times, the normal breast tissues is more translucent than malignant tissues in the irradiation of microwave. We analyze the property of the model under the irradiation of microwave by simulation, which is feasibility of detecting the breast cancer. The forth part, the estimate of bioelectromagnetic properties is investigated. In this part, we need to resolve the inverse scattering problem, which brings the lager computation amount and time needing because of its ill-posed and nonlinear. In order to reduce the computation burden, we advance a new regularization approach to reconstruct tissue properties using a priori information. The simulation result proves the feasibility.
