In comparison with numerical calculation, symbolic operation is a inference procedure. It is used to solve concrete problems and reveal innate laws of things. symbolic operation gives an abstract of mathmatics. at the present time, there is no good means to solve the complex symbolic operation and for some function points, it is difficult in solving complex operations and a lot of the problems encountered by human, mainly from the complex function points and in some discipline produces special function points.Formula dictionary mainly targets at the integral formulas because of the complexity. By comparing the cunrrent methods on coding formulas,th, the LaTeX format is used as the key, and the MathML format is used as the output values for display.After in the dictionary of formula, in order to guarantee the recall and precision during on searching process to formula dictionary. This paper adoptes some methods to ptetreat the user's input. This method analysises the structure of the formula based on LaTeX. And it gives four pretreatment rules in the pretreatment process; In the retrieval processing, the matching method contains two matching method,the direct matching method and partial matching method, and the partial matching method adoptes the BM algorithm.Finally, a simple example is gived to test on retrievaling formula dictionary , by analysis the output, we can come to the conclusion that the rules are given in this paper can ensure pretreatment matching result for the correctness and completeness.
