Industrial CT (Industrial Computed Tomography, referred to as ICT) is an important means of non-destructive testing. It is widely used in aerospace, aviation, casting and other fields. Detected objects include common parts, missiles, rocket engines, military products, etc. Western countries have put a lot of manpower and material resources into its in-depth study. Ray source system is an important part of industrial CT, the dose rate radiation source, focus, dose stability, energy spectrum is the key factor to determine the performance of industrial CT system.The X-ray source system currently used in industrial CT is the X-ray non-destructive testing equipment used in general. In the CT scanning process, the staff have to operate the CT system and the X-ray sourse system which is viewed as independent subsystem separately and is unable to carry on the real-time control through the industry CT control system. Simultaneously there are also the security problem that it will have the possibility to have radiation dose divulging which will cause harm to staff's personal safety, and the facility cost brought by the separate operation will increase greatly.In order to achieve the industrial CT'accurate control of ray source, author firstly has conducted the deep research on the composition, the mechanism and the technical parameter of the beam source system(X-ray machine and electronic line of sight accelerator) commonly used in the industrial CT. Combined with the demand for industrial CT, functional design has been carried on the line source contol software using the C++ programming language under the VC development environment and the RS-485 bus to complete its accurate control. The design put the computer technology and communication technology into the radiation source control system, helping improve the monitoring system-ray source intelligence, to avoid the difficulties of repair and upgrade in traditional ray source control, and the the staff may monitor the line source through the CT control system in an easier and safier way.The control system based on this design is powerful. Besides the basic function of on/off the engine, the parameter setting and the information dispaly, it has more functions like important parameter monitoring, the work mode selection and fault self-processing. X-ray source system operating modes include industrial CT mode, training local mode and camera mode. Training machine model is designed for the X-ray machine that is the first boot or when not in use for some time to prevent damage to the X-ray tube and extend its life. The author makes the American Spellman Corporation's XRV450PN High Voltage Generator and the Beijing Institute of Machinery Industry Automation's developed high-energy X-ray source 9MeV as the specific object and completes the system test to it and the test result achieves the design requirements.The beam source controller designed and realized by the quthor is applied in 450KeV the feeble-minded X-ray source industry CT control system and 9MeV in the standing wave electronic line of sight accelerator industry CT control system with stable serive and good perfomance.
