Nowadays, spatial and temporal distribution of snow is the focus of global change researches. Inner Mongolia grassland area is a sensitive and key region in global climate change, the research of which have significance on climate change. In this paper, many years of MODIS Remote Sensing data and observations from Ground weather stations in the past 20 years are used.Studied the spatial and temporal distribution of snow in Inner Mongolia grassland area and analyzed the reasons,I make the following conclusions:1. Snow distributed in central and eastern of Inner Mongolia region, concentrated in Meadow steppe and Steppe.Only a small amount of snow covering the western region. Iso-surface ground snow depth maps that are made from the date of Ground weather stations is basically consistent with the snow coverage in snow cover map made by MODIS Remote Sensing data.2. Snow in Inner Mongolia grassland changed greatly during the year, Beginning to snow in October, and rising. The next year, Snowfall reaches to the maximum in January, Snow begins to fall during the February and March. In April, there is basically no snow.3.Using the Information of five typical weather stations in Inner Mongolia grassland,I have analyzed the six main climate factors about snow: mean temperature, strong wind days, wind speed, precipitation, sunshine duration, vapor pressure,I establish multiple regression equation to simulate the depth of snow, the correlation coefficient between Simulated and measured values are both through the 0.01 significance level test.
