Trees could fix CO2 though photosynthesis to produce all kinds of organic matter nessesary to plant growth and maintenance, the leaf is the main place of this photosynthetic process, so limited messages is available for the chlorenchyma underlying the bark of branches, who take large percentage of forestry biomass. This study mainly focused on what's the different between pigments and chlorophyll fluorescence characteristic in the branch chlorenchyma with references to its own leaf. Research the different between C4 enzymes activities, pigments content, chlorophyll fluorescence and spectral characteristic in leaf and branch chlorenchyma of clove, poplar and larch, the following conclusions were found:1. The differences of pigment content between leaf and branch chlorenchyma of colve, poplar and larchThrough measuring the pigment content between leaf and branch chlorenchyma of colve, poplar and larch found that:chlorophyll content in leaf more than in branch. When expressed as unit of square measure, Chl.a+b in leaf of colve from 230mg/m2 to 620 mg/m2, carotenoid from 50mg/m2 to 85 mg/m2; Chl.a+b in branch of colve from 100mg/m2 to 300 mg/m2, carotenoid from 60mg/m2 to 60 mg/m2; Chl.a+b in leaf of poplar from 200mg/m2 to 700 mg/m2, carotenoid from 30mg/m2 to 90 mg/m2; Chl.a+b in branch of poplar from 150mg/m2 to 260 mg/m2; Chl.a+b in leaf of larch from 10mg/m2 to 500 mg/m2, carotenoid from 10mg/m2 to 60 mg/m2; Chl.a+b in branch of larch from 100mg/m2 to 200 mg/m2, carotenoid from 20mg/m2 to 70 mg/m2.2. The differences of electronic transportation rate between leaf and branch chlorenchyma colve, poplar and larchThrough measuring the electronic transportation rate between leaf and branch chlorenchyma of colve, poplar and larch found that:in most cases, the electronic transportation rate in leaf of colve was higher than in branch, the maximum value of leaf appeared at Jul and the branch appeared at Jun; all of the electronic transportation rate in leaf of poplar was higher than in branch, the maximum value of leaf appeared at Jul or Aug and the branch appeared at Jun; most of the electronic transportation rate in leaf of larch was higher than in branch, the maximum value of leaf appeared at Jun and the branch appeared at May or Jun.3. The differences of C4 enzymes between leaf and branch chlorenchyma of colve, poplar and larchThrough measuring the C4 enzymes between leaf and branch chlorenchyma of colve, poplar and larch found that:when expressed as unit of chlorophyll, the activities of PEPC, PEPCK, PPDK, NADP-ME, NADP-MDH in branch of clove were respectively 2.4 times,4.1 times,3.2 times,4.5 times and 1.9 times of those in leaf; in branch of poplar were respectively 2.1 times,15 times,6.3 times,6.3 times and 2.8 times of those in leaf, and the corresponding values for larch were respectively 6.8 times,6.3 times,4.3 times,4 times and 5.5 times. However, the differences in enzymes activities between leaf and branch at fresh weight unit were much smaller comparing with so large differences in chlorophyll unit. Inter-species comparison showed that 5 enzymes in poplar leaf and branch were significantly higher than clove and larch.4. The differences of spectral characteristic between leaf and branch chlorenchyma of 39 woody speciesThrough measuring the spectral characteristic of 39 woody sepecies found that:in most cases, the reflectivity of leaf and branch had no similar spectral characteristic. All of the 39 sepecies which determined, only 6 showed similar spectral characteristic and the other 33 had the differences of spectral characteristic. Among, most of the reflectivity of leaf was higher than branch, just 10 sepecies was higher than leaf.
