As an important component of the karst environement system, kart groundwater has always been the key research topic in the science of karst environment.Because of the fragility of the karst groundwater, all the countries in the world, including China are faced with the crisis of environmental destruction in the karst aeras. As far as Chongqing is concerned, due to the intensive production in the industry and agriculture led by the slow economic growth and limited natural geographic conditions, excessive release of paroduction sewage and living sewage and unreasonable use of land, the karst water quality has been already greatly polluted. With Conglin karst ridge-trough at Fulin town in Chongqing as the study aera, based on the previous findings and Chinese and foreign literatures, this thesis is intended to make an exploratory research on the general evaluation of the groundwater resources in the Conglin karst ridge-trough at Fulin town by using the spatial data management and the function of spatial analysis.Firstly, it made an analysis of the basic data in the aera such as water chemistry.By using the ArcGIS software and the digital map, a vector map of the Conglin karst ridge-trough at Fulin town can be obtained. Then on the basis of the results handled by the software, the author chose nine representative indexes of the groundwater environment quality to form a prognostic map of a single index by the application of Kriging method. Afterwards, a comprehensive evaluation of groundwater environment quality in Conglin karst ridge-trough at Fulin town has been conducted by means of the overlay analysis and the composite index of the groundwater environment quality calculated by the Nemerow Pollution Index. Finally, the author brings forward the countermeasures and suggestions for the protection and scientific development and utilization of the groundwater resources.
