With the development of economy, many factories produce so much waste gas in the air that the quality of the air becomes worse and worse. It is necessary to improve the management of Atmospheric environmental. At present, the results of atmospheric environmental quality assessment are not able to visualize perfectly, but GIS exactly can overcome these disadvantages, so integration of Atmospheric environmental Assessment model and GIS has great significance, this article mainly researches the combination GIS with Atmospheric environmental assessment to solve the disadvantages mentioned above.Firstly, AERMOD model is selected to simulate diffusion of air pollution. An experiment is carried out by combining AERMOD model with GIS, using component of GIS----ArcEngine. The result proves the feasibility of the combination.In this paper, taking HuiZhou for the instance, pollutant-factors(SO2, NO2, PM10) is selected as the main assessment factors, using the pollution sources data of HuiZhou in 2005. the air pollution simulation processes using AERMOD model and receives the air pollutions concentration distribution. Then according to the correctness of result of AERMOD model, an error analysis carries out and finally gets the assessment of the correctness of the result of AERMOD model. After that, the data of the three pollutants are calculated by comprehensive index method, the result shows the distribution of comprehensive index about HuiZhou Area. Based on this result, combining with the air monitoring data in 2005, current situation evaluation is implemented. based on the result of current situation evaluation, a impact assessment is practiced. The result of impact assessment can provide useful information for site selection of industrial project and controlling the air pollution.The experiment shows that the degree of air pollution is slight, but partial area is out of standard value. With the help of GIS, distribution of air pollutants concentration are showed intuitively and legibly.
