Artemisia ordosica can reproduce both asexually and sexually. Through the sand buried branches formed plant cloning. We analyzed genetic diversity and genetic distance within the A.ordosica'population in different habitats using ISSR molecular markers. To better understand the mode of asexual reproduction of the species, we also conducted gene diversity analysis and analyzed its spatial distribution.Having the clone population of A.ordosica as a unit we examined correlations between population comprehensive vitality index, photosynthetic activity, diurnal changes of soil moisture content, and seasonal dynamics of the population. To understand the mechanisms of this pattern we compared population reproductive characteristics in different habitats which provided an effective method in studying dispersal via clonal reproduction. The results are as follows:(1) We can division three habits and contain 136 samples. The percentage of polymorphic loci is 99.20%. They have different gene flow (Nm) among three habits. Drifting sandy land's gene flows comminute with semi drifting land and fixed sandy land little. Respectively 0.7929 and 0.6846. But the gene flow semi drifting land and fixed sandy land is very high 6.2930.it indicates that they have sexual propagation process. So they own high genetic identity 93.7%; the Shannon's index in drifting sandy land is low and it communicate gene with others is also small, aside its genetic identity with others is low. It showed that drifting sandy land predominately precede asexual reproduction process.(2) According to three kinds of Artemisia ordosica Population's genetics distance division different genets. PD shows that:shifting land (0.333)>semi shifting land (0.327)>fixed land (0.224)(3)Through different habitats Artemisia ordosica population from the durial photosynthesis analysis with durial soil water shows that:a positive correlation between soil moisture and net photosynthetic in June and July. Soil moisture and net photosynthetic was negatively correlated in September...
