The Calculation And Simulation Of Chinese North-South Demarcation Based On GIS

Firstly, nine ecological factors correlating with the Chinese North-South demarcation were selected in this study. Secondly, the ecological factors evaluating models about the Chinese North-South demarcation were established by the suitability model for analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and fuzzy set theory. Finally, based on the spatial computation of the evaluating models which were established by the ecological factors, geographic distribution of the Chinese North-South demarcation zone was simulated by GIS. Ultimately the geographic distribution about the Chinese North-South demarcation was described in detail. The results showed that the distribution of the Chinese North-South demarcation was a narrow strip with the comprehensive property of the natural factors (climate, geography) and the humanistic factors. It included 130 counties (cities)of 7 Provinces:Sichuan, Gansu, Shanxi, Hubei, Henan, Anhui and Jiangsu, with a total area 145500.74 km2. Chinese North-South demarcation line was obtained by connecting the middle points of a series of longitude lines, and it originated from Pingwu County(E104°15',N32°18') of Sichuan Province, passed through Wen County and Kang County of Gansu Province, Lueyang County and Xunyang County of Shaanxi Province, Yunxi County of Hubei Province, Xixia County and Runan County of Henan Province, Fuyang City and Bengbu City of Anhui Province, Sihong County and Huaian City of Jiangsu Province, arrived in the seaside of Sheyang County(E120°21',N34°05'). The total length of the line was about 1666.28 km.
