The Experimental Study Of Multi-section Floating Cylinder Wave Energy Device

In the 21st century, Energy shortage has become a serious problem faced by humanity. When the conventional energy sources can't meet the social development, people look to the sea which is a pollution-free energy supplier hidden with 766×108 kW of renewable energy. Ocean Energy includes tidal energy, wave energy, ocean thermal energy, salinity gradient energy and ocean current energy. This paper presents most forms of ocean energy converter, including tidal power stations, ocean thermal energy generation boats, and a variety of ocean current energy and tidal current energy devices. This paper focuses on the development of wave energy in various forms and devices, including wave theory, the composition of wave energy device, the key technologies of wave energy device and the forms of wave energy device.On the basis of linear wave theory and Froude-Krylow assume, the model of floating wave energy device is established. Then, with the Bohai Bay wave parameters, the force of the horizontal cylinder is calculated in this paper, and the size of floating wave energy device which fitting for the wave of Bohai Bay is got. In chapter IV, it is designed the key part of the floating wave energy device, including the mechanical structure, hydraulic systems, power generation systems, and wave simulation system, by using CATIA and AMESim4.2. According to the design, the device is built and tested. Experiment research is conducted according to a pilot program, and the experimental data is acquired by a data logger. By analyzing experimental data, the result shows that the mechanical system and hydraulic system of this device is efficient and suitable for wave energy development, while the efficient of generation systems is a lot low. The generation system needs to be improved.
