On the basis of the large number of relevant documents in domestic and overseas, this paper majored on the well-preserved vegetation community in Daguping forestland, Shuangpai County, Yongzhou, Hunan Province.21 typical vegetation communities had been investigated and analyzed. On the research of flora, living type, community amount and structure characteristics, TWINSPAN classification and community succession, the result had been given. This paper could give scientific foundation for vegetation utilization and protection, and advice for natural forests in sub-tropical area. The main results are as follows:1,The flora for Daguping forestland belongs to China-Japan forest flora sub-area, which is the South-China district of Pantrople-Arctic flora area. There are 309 species,209 genera and 106 families'vascular bundle plants in this survey sample of 6200 m2 area. The tropical flora is more than temperate elements, so the flora is a tropical and subtropical nature. The 88 genus in temperate flora type is similar to that of the 92 genus in tropical flora type, so the flora has a power transitional nature in this area.2,The sample size for different environment is determined by "smallest area" ways, and five grades had been divided for the coverage value of each species. According to the TWINSPAN classification software,21 samples could be divided into 21 groups in 6 vegetations types. The result of the survey agrees with that classified by TWINSPAN software. As a result, the TWINSPAN software is scientific and suitable for vegetation community classification, and could be utilized invested for vegetation community.3,According to the plant growing-type, the natural forest in Daguping forestland could be divided into three layers:arbor layer, shrub layer and herb layer. There are 234 surface-bud plant as a whole, make up 75.73% proportion as a whole species in this community, and could classified into middle-bud plant, small-bud plant and low-bud plant. Most of them are low-bud area,116 species could make up 37.54% as a whole, and it is the important composition in this community, much of them is shady plant.97 species small-bud plant could make up 31.39% composition. The plant growing types is a reflection for warm and humid mid-tropical climate in this area, and it is suitable for small-bud plant, low-bud plant and fern. 4,According to the classification for vegetation community by TWINSPAN software, the analysis for community amount characters and structural characters, we could speculate the vegetation ecosystem succession types:the initial stage is herb and low-shrub, the next is shrub plant, and the evergreen broad-leaf forest is the top species. This community type is grown for hundreds and thousands years, and well developed for ecosystems, so it should be protected strictly and carefully.
