Study On The Population, Community And Protection Suggestions Of Ceratopteris Pteridoides In Hubei Province

Due to special geography, lake resources, climate and heat, Hubei Province becomes one of the concentrating distribution places of Parkeriaceae plants in China. Ceratopteris pteridoides(Hook.) Hieron is an annual fern belonging to Ceratopteris, Parkeriaceae. It is the plant inâ…¡degree of the protected in China. The fragmentation of primary habitat caused the sharp decrease in number of the species population faced with extinction.The population and distribution, main ecological traits was investigated in plots set in Chenhu Lake, Longganhu Lake and Liangzihu Lake, and Donghu Lake, Honghu Lake, Changhu Lake, Qinglinghu Lake, Zhangduhu Lake are contrasting lakes. By numerical analysis the the flora traits and diversity of companion plants, the quantitative traits of population and community,the limiting factors for the distribution of the plant and so on had been considered. The results are as follows:There are 28 species which belonged to 26 genera and 19 families of companion plants of Ceratopteris pteridoides in the 3 populations, and they have high consistency.The companion plants of Ceratopteris pteridoides are characterized by simple flora and geography, and the style of genera's flora traits are more than the family's. Level in family,the companion plants of Ceratopteris pteridoides are Characterized by temperate, and level in genera, they are Characterized by tropical, but the plants of temperate also have a certain percentage. These show that Hubei Province is a suitable place for Ceratopteris pteridoides to grow and reproduction.Because of the special life form, there is no suitable companion sequence for Ceratopteris pteridoides, but the invasive plants should be considered. Ceratopteris pteridoides depends on water rigidly. Most of them tract located in the shore or the gap of the higher plants.There are many factors to impact the distribution of Ceratopteris pteridoides, but human's activities and the conductivity of water are the main factors.Though based on the population and conununity traits Ceratopteris pteridoides did not showed being in danger, the continually reducing caused by the acuity of habitat fragmentation and in Hubei Province has made it to be typical endangered plant. Government should pay much attention to protect the plant species.Ceratopteris pteridoides should be protected in many aspects, such as paying attention to human's activity, controlling the pollution of water, and so on. If necessary, ex situ conservation can be considered.
