The spatial distribution of economic activities profoundly influences and changes the way of regional economic development and growth. As an important part of economic activities, the industrial spatial agglomeration has always been the core of regional economics research. At present, the urban agglomeration has become the main carrier of China’s economic development, and the development of urban agglomeration plays an important strategic leading and supporting role in China’s regional development.Industry,as a key factor in the formation of urban agglomeration, always plays a key role in the context of urban agglomeration integration construction. It plays an important role in promoting local economic growth, promoting coordinated development of urban agglomeration, and seeking high-quality development to pay attention to various problems of industrial spatial agglomeration within urban agglomeration. With the acceleration of urban agglomeration construction, some new phenomenon of industrial spatial agglomeration also emerges: why do cities formed by diversified industrial agglomeration and cities formed by specialized industrial agglomeration in urban agglomeration have similar city sizes? Why does the service industry in urban agglomeration spread from the central city to the peripheral city while some manufacturing industries cluster from the peripheral city to the central city? Why do homogeneous industries in urban agglomerations show significant differences in production efficiency in different cities? After analyzing and summarizing the typical facts, this paper concludes the industrial spatial agglomeration in urban agglomeration into three problems, namely, the industrial spatial agglomeration mode in the urban agglomeration, the spatial agglomeration of different types of industries in the urban agglomeration, and the differential spatial agglomeration of homogeneous industries in urban agglomeration. This paper from the Angle of the theory of new economic phenomena and new frontiers,in the analysis of urban agglomeration between industry and industry agglomeration mechanism of action of each problem, and through the threshold effect model, spatial econometric model, and evolutionary game model to examine these questions, summed up the law of development of urban agglomeration industrial spatial agglomeration. The main content of this paper is arranged as follows: In terms of theoretical research, based on the Henderson classic city system model, this paper firstly constructed a mathematical analysis framework including the industrial agglomeration model and city size and discussed the factors influencing the urban scale and industrial agglomeration model from a theoretical perspective.Secondly, based on the model, this paper further discusses the agglomeration and diffusion of different industries in urban agglomerations. Finally, from the perspective of spatial ordering and spatial selection, this paper explores the reasons for the spatial agglomeration of different homogeneous industries. In terms of empirical research, this paper firstly builds a threshold effect model and analyzes 158 cities in 11 cross-regional urban agglomerations under construction in China from 2010 to 2019.By testing the threshold variables obtained from theoretical and mechanism analysis in this paper, the causal relationship between city size and industrial agglomeration pattern is discussed.Secondly, based on the analysis of different industrial spatial agglomeration and diffusion phenomena, from the Angle of the urban agglomeration internal space interaction,by constructing a spatial econometric model, from 2010 to 2020 older river delta urban agglomeration and its surrounding city a total of 41 cities as samples to carry on the analysis, respectively to discuss the cause of the industrial spatial agglomeration and diffusion and summarize the rule. Finally, starting from the micro-individual of the industry, this paper explores the reasons for the differentiated spatial agglomeration of homogeneous industries by constructing an evolutionary game model involving enterprises with different skills of three parties. The main conclusions of this paper are as follows: First, the total factor productivity of the industry in which the city is specialized determines the size of the city, and affects the overall distribution law of city size within the urban agglomeration. When intra-industry and inter-industry communication and transportation costs are reduced,or the urbanization economy is strong,it is easier for industries to form diversified clusters in cities;otherwise,it is easier to form specialized clusters.Secondly, there is a significant spatial autocorrelation between high-end manufacturing agglomeration and modern service agglomeration in urban agglomerations. The urban scale, economic development level and knowledge intensity of local and neighboring cities have a significant positive impact on high-end manufacturing and modern service agglomeration. However, the improvement of information technology level and the improvement of transportation infrastructure may lead to the transformation of modern service industry from "geographical agglomeration" to "virtual agglomeration",thus forming the phenomenon of agglomeration, diffusion, and re-agglomeration in space. Therefore, the improvement of information technology level and transportation infrastructure have different spatial impacts on high-end manufacturing and modern service industry, which also indicates that the spatial agglomeration of industry is in the process of constant change. Finally, based on the evolutionary game model, and find that the three parties engaged in the same industry but skills different enterprise only the stability of the equilibrium strategy is a skill point of the highest corporate into production, the largest central city in the central city less secondary skills under the action of enterprises will be crowded in the city costs leave city center. This conclusion explains why the productivity of central cities in urban agglomerations is always higher than that of peripheral cities, and it is easier to form a high level of spatial agglomeration.By proving the existence of ranking and selection effects in urban agglomeration, this paper argues that heterogeneous firms in homogeneous industries will show heterogeneous distribution and form differentiated agglomeration characteristics due to the difference in skill level.
