formation and dissemination of mainstream social ideologies.This has had an important impact on the foundation and existence of ideological and political education for college students.General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed to promote the deep integration of artificial intelligence and education,and it is necessary for artificial intelligence to empower ideological and political education for college students.Exploring artificial intelligence empowering ideological and political education for college students is an inevitable choice in the era of intelligence to promote the high-quality development of ideological and political education for college students.There are two main approaches in the academic research on artificial intelligence empowering ideological and political education for college students,one is the technical approach,and the other is the social approach.Currently,research is mainly focused on the technical approach,with a focus on the application of technology empowerment.The overall and systematic nature of the research needs to be strengthened,and there is a problem of multiple perspectives in theoretical research and scattered perspectives in practical research.It is urgent to integrate the technological and social approaches as a whole,and systematically promote research in both theory and practice.This study takes Marxist philosophy as the research perspective and systematically explores the possibility and necessity,logical structure,value goal,practical situation,concept innovation,method optimization,and path selection of artificial intelligence empowering ideological and political education for college students,aiming to enhance the overall and systematic nature of the research.Possibility and necessity are the prerequisites for empowering development.Artificial intelligence empowering ideological and political education for college students is not only a possible issue,but an inevitable requirement.Based on the standpoint,viewpoint,and method of Marxism,artificial intelligence,as a product of human "object-oriented activities",has dual attributes of technology and society,along with sharing the characteristics of Marx’s "machine" and "machine system".Artificial intelligence,as an extension of human "organs",also makes humans their "limbs".Human and artificial intelligence gradually form a human-machine community,and today’s era can be called the intelligent era.Artificial intelligence has the function of carrying,connecting,guiding,and condensing ideological and political education.Ideological and political education has three major artificial intelligence elements: big data,algorithms,and computing power.Empowering ideological and political education with artificial intelligence may be feasible.Artificial intelligence empowering ideological and political education for college students is not only an inevitable requirement for adjusting the value of ethical issues in intelligent society,but also an inevitable choice to adapt to the changes in the mainstream ideological dissemination and existence of college students in the intelligent era.It is also a historical necessity for innovation in ideological and political education for college students in the new era.Logical structure and value goals are the basis for empowering development.Artificial intelligence empowering ideological and political education for college students should adhere to a systematic concept,comprehensively grasp the technological and social dimensions of empowerment.In terms of technological dimensions,it is based on the framework of basic layer,technological layer,and application layer,and in terms of social dimensions,it is based on economic,political,cultural,and technological conditions.It is carried out from three aspects:concept innovation,method optimization,and path selection,and in accordance with the logic of subject adaptation,precise goals,platform integration and ecological governance.Artificial intelligence empowering ideological and political education for college students is aimed to enhance the adaptability,accuracy,and synergy of ideological and political education for college students.Practical situation is the foundation for empowering development.Investigation and research have found that artificial intelligence has achieved certain results in empowering ideological and political education for college students,mainly manifested in the continuous improvement of the empowerment awareness of diverse subjects,the intelligent upgrading of ideological and political education models,and the continuous improvement of the environmental conditions of ideological and political education.However,there are still issues in empowerment,such as the need to strengthen the collaboration and linkage of diverse subjects,to strengthen the development and utilization of ideological and political intelligent products,and to strengthen the response to intelligent social risks.This is mainly due to insufficient support for subjects’ accomplishment,intelligent technology,data personnel;Empowerment should adapt to the changing social environment of artificial intelligence,utilize the advantages of artificial intelligence technology,innovate the forms of ideological and databases,resource libraries,intelligent spaces,and collaborative education intelligent platforms for college students’ ideological and political education;Empowerment should promote evaluation
