| Young teachers in colleges and universities are the backbone of teachers in colleges and universities.Paying attention to the development of teaching ability of young teachers in colleges and universities is the practical basis for the realization of strong education,the inevitable requirement for the coordinated development of the scale of colleges and universities and the quality of production and education,and also an important indicator of the individual professional development of young teachers in colleges and universities.Therefore,this study focuses on the basic research field of “ teaching ability of young teachers in colleges and universities”,attempts to construct a model of teaching ability of young teachers in colleges and universities,describes the real pattern of teaching ability of young teachers in colleges and universities,explores the influencing factors behind it,and finally puts forward strategies for improving teaching ability of young teachers in colleges and universities.This research theoretically inherits and develops the existing teaching ability theory of college teachers,and further puts forward a teaching ability model of college young teachers that conforms to the background of the new era and the characteristics of young teachers group,which has certain theoretical value.In the application,the investigation results of the current situation of the teaching ability of young teachers in colleges and universities and the exploration of influencing factors can provide a basis for effectively improving the teaching ability of young teachers in colleges and universities,and ultimately feed the teaching quality of colleges and universities,which has important practical value.This study chose a mixed research orientation.Firstly,through literature review and logical thinking,the teaching ability model of young teachers in colleges and universities is preliminarily constructed.Secondly,the expert verification and practical verification of the teaching ability model of young teachers in colleges and universities are carried out through the expert consultation method and the questionnaire survey method.Finally,the “Teaching ability model of young teachers in colleges and universities”of this study is determined and based on this,the “Teaching ability Evaluation Questionnaire of young teachers in Colleges and Universities” is designed.Then,according to the established model and questionnaire,the teaching ability of young teachers in colleges and universities in C City is deeply investigated and analyzed by questionnaire survey.Then,through interviews,in-depth interviews were conducted with teaching administrators,front-line teachers and students,and the influencing factors were analyzed from the perspective of teaching situation and individual teachers.Finally,from the five dimensions of the teaching ability model of young teachers in colleges and universities,this paper puts forward the teaching ability improvement strategies of young teachers in colleges and universities.The details are as follows:1.Construct the teaching ability model of young teachers in colleges and universities in my country.This paper believes that the teaching ability of young teachers in colleges and universities includes three levels: inner,middle and outer,and is composed of five dimensions of knowledge,skills,attitudes,values,and traits.The skill dimension includes five sub-dimensions: instructional design skills,teaching organization skills,teaching implementation skills,teaching evaluation skills,and educational reflection skills;the attitude dimension includes three dimensions of teachers’ work values,role attitudes,and professional belonging;values include work values,curriculum thinking There are five sub-dimensions of political ability,awareness of actively promoting the country’s positive image,awareness of actively caring about students’ ideological and political dynamics,and educational outlook;the trait dimension includes two sub-dimensions of self-confidence and lifelong learning.These 5 dimensions and 20 sub-dimensions constitute the teaching ability of young teachers in colleges and universities in this study.2.Sketch of the teaching ability of young teachers in colleges and universitiesThe research of this paper shows that the general ability of young teachers in colleges and universities is higher than the special ability.The inner and middle layers of teaching ability of college teachers have been prepared,but they still need external factors to help them stimulate the knowledge and skills of the outer layer,so as to promote the overall improvement of teaching ability.About one-third of the sub-dimensions of the teaching ability of young teachers in colleges and universities have reached a good level,but two-thirds of the sub-dimensions are still at an average level.Young teachers in colleges and universities have good general teaching knowledge and teaching organization skills,identify with their own teacher status,are willing to complete teaching work wholeheartedly,and have the concept of lifelong learning.Young teachers in colleges and universities are higher than other teachers in the attitude dimension,but significantly lower than other college teachers in the knowledge dimension.The content teaching method knowledge and educational reflection skills of young teachers in colleges and universities need to be improved,their professional attitude is not strong enough,and their ideological and political ability and self-confidence are also insufficient.Female college young teachers,young college teachers with intermediate titles,college young teachers with undergraduate degrees from non-key universities,and young teachers in subordinate colleges and universities need to be paid attention to.3.Analysis on influencing factors of teaching ability of young teachers in universities and collegesThis study adopts a qualitative research orientation,through interviews,from the level of teaching situation and individual teachers,in-depth analysis of the factors that affect the teaching ability of young teachers in universities and colleges,and reveals the specific causes of the teaching ability of young teachers in universities and colleges.From the perspective of teaching situation,the basic teaching organization,post-service teaching training,course distribution scheme,teaching evaluation rules,teaching management platform efficiency,teaching process evaluation and recruitment system all have different degrees of influence on the teaching ability of young teachers in universities and colleges.From the perspective of individual teachers,their academic vision,family life burden,educational background,working platform,self-expression ability and ability to accept new things also have direct or indirect influence on the teaching ability of young teachers in colleges and universities.It can be seen that the reasons affecting the development of young teachers’ teaching ability in colleges and universities are complicated.4.Strategies for improving teaching ability of young teachers in colleges and universitiesThis study finds that the weak groups of young teachers’ teaching ability are young teachers in non-key undergraduate universities,young female teachers in universities and young teachers in ministry schools.The former two need to be improved in the outer layer of young teachers’ teaching ability,while the latter mainly needs to be improved in the inner layer.Based on the five dimensions of the teaching ability model of young teachers in colleges and universities,specific strategies for improving the teaching ability of young teachers in colleges and universities are put forward.The supporting strategy of the skill dimension is mainly aimed at the reflection skills.It’s suggested to set up teaching models to provide examples for the depth of reflection.The specific operations include building teaching video library of high-level old teachers and establishing teaching leading obligation of new teaching talents.Refine teaching process guidance,provide practice standard for reflection content;Enhance the professional guidance of the department and provide a stage for the reflection of the results.The supplementary strategy of knowledge dimension is mainly aimed at the knowledge of content teaching method.It’s suggested to establish the necessary connection between content teaching method knowledge and teaching series evaluation.Provide targeted training and exchange content teaching knowledge.The promotion strategy of attitude dimension is mainly aimed at the actual predicament of young teachers in universities and colleges.It’s suggested to implement “equal pay for equal work”,which is an inevitable way to improve attitude.Build warm professional environment,improve teachers’ professional identity;Psychological factors should be considered when selecting student cadres.The strategies of constructing trait dimension mainly include making visiting communication a hard index;The formation of young teachers groups,exert the peer effect. |
