In order to accelerate the development of Rwanda,it has established a cooperative program.And based on agricultural cooperatives the productivity increased and the livelihood of the farmers improved.Women agricultural cooperatives have played an irreplaceable role in the development of Rwanda agriculture sector and its rural economy development;they become an important force for the coordinated development of population existing resources and the promotion of sustainable agricultural development.The coffee has an incompatible role to the economy of Rwanda,and plays the major role in the rural economy and the foreign exchange earnings.The Rwanda coffee Cooperatives not only provides women with a professional platform,but also fully enhances the quality and capacity of their members while participating in the development of cooperatives.The Rwanda agricultural cooperatives currently face a low number of women participants in coffee cooperatives.The study aims was to assess the operational performance of a few women who were already working in coffee cooperatives to be known and if it is good;will be able to have a positive effect on women coffee cooperatives’participation,and give possible suggestions on what can be done based on findings.Combination of the quantitative and qualitative methods was used to collect and analyze the received data,and based on the interpretation of various ideas related to the women coffee cooperatives,and also through field surveys,questionnaires,in-depth interviews and observations the needed information on research were obtained,and also systematically analyzed the current status of Rwanda Women Coffee Cooperative.The frequency Likert scales also used to operate the respondents’ personality traits.And the narrative research approaches were applied to understand well the received data.The probability sampling used to select randomly the two(2)visited women coffee cooperatives out of twelve(12)which are as follows:"Jijuka Muhinzi wa Kawa(East province)and Hingakawa Women’s Cooperative(North province)".And 30 women members were communicated from each selected women coffee cooperative as a sum of sixty(60)respondents.With a help of SPSS computer program,a quantitative analysis and empirical evaluation of Rwanda Women Coffee Cooperatives’operation performance was carried by constructing the Cochran model.Our analysis showed the strong correlation between the participation and operational performance of women coffee cooperatives.With a help of SPSS program,a quantitative analysis and empirical evaluation of Rwanda Women Coffee Cooperatives’ operational performance was carried out by constructing the Cochran model.And based on their incomes received by the visited women where the majority of them earned between 200 $-300$,their economic activities(status)where the majority of them were engaged in farming(40%),the given key supports,clear change in their participation level(before and after 1994 genocide),increasing in number since 2009 to 2019,...all of these led us to confirm that the operational performance of women coffee cooperatives in Rwanda improved.We discovered various problems that prevent women from participating in the coffee cooperatives such as:early culture,shortage seeds,weak profitability,insufficient training,and lack of:permanent workplace,financial support,and Policy Support...which is why the research putted forward countermeasures and suggestions for improving the performance of Rwanda Women Coffee Cooperatives in order to increase their participation level,capacity of women coffee cooperatives in performance monitoring,strengthening the training of cooperative members,strengthening credit support for cooperatives,creating a good cooperative development policy environment,and improving cooperative incentive mechanisms.We conclude that if women coffee cooperatives perform well;it will first increase the level of their participation,enable them to develop themselves,increase agricultural productivity(coffee),and boost the country’s economy. |
