The peasantry workers’ habitat refers to the sum of the social space where peasantry workers live and work, and all the factors that can affect peasantry workers. It provides peasantry workers with resources and opportunities for survival and developments. The peasantry workers’ habitat is “constant” and has a tendency to“solidify” in time and space and sets a “script” for peasantry workers’ life and work,so that peasantry workers can show their unique life patterns, life trajectory and life course, but each peasantry worker can still play his own “role” in a personalized way.Peasantry workers live and work in their habitats.Their habitat status is specifically reflected in their working status, income status, living status and development space and is expressed as a comprehensive level of these five aspects relative to other social groups.Habitat status is influenced by peasantry workers’ own factors and external factors.Peasantry workers’ own factors mainly refer to their human capital and social capital;and external factors mainly refer to labor market, public services and social environments. This paper analyzes the improvements of the peasantry workers’ habitats under the change of these factors and proposes five hypotheses including:(1)The peasantry workers’ habitats are affected by their own human capital;(2)The peasantry workers’ habitats are affected by their own social capital;(3)The peasantry workers’ habitats are affected by the labor market;(4)The peasantry workers’ habitats are affected by public services;(5)The peasantry workers’ habitats are affected by the social environments.First of all, this paper uses the survey data of the quality of life of laborers in L District,Shenzhen,2019 to construct a measurement index system of peasantry workers’ habitat status, human capital, social capital, labor market, public services, and social environments. Then,it uses optimal scale regression to study hypothesis(1),(2),(3),(4),(5)and finds that all hypothesis are established. Finally, this paper summarizes that peasantry workers’ external factors affect the habitat status more than their own factors;in terms of peasantry workers’ own factors, the social capital affects the habitat status more than human capital. At the same time, this paper traces and compares some of the relevant data from the 2015 survey data on the laborers’ life quality in L District,Shenzhen. To improve the living conditions of peasantry workers, there should be a focus on asymmetric measures, and the focus should be on improving external factors rather than improving peasantry workers’ own factors.Based on this, this paper puts forward specific countermeasures for the improvement of peasantry workers’ habitats: in terms of peasantry workers’ working conditions and income status, the focus is on improving the labor market, making wages meet the expectations of peasantry workers, making peasantry workers’ working environment safer, and increasing local employment opportunities to help peasantry workers enter higher-paying industries;in terms of peasantry workers’ living conditions, living conditions, and development space, the focus is on improving the social environments, making locals more friendly to peasantry workers, and enhancing the attractiveness of peasantry workers in the region. If policy resources permit,we can focus on the peasantry workers’ own factors and the focus should be on improving peasantry workers’ social capital. |
