| Mao Zedong’s thought of socialist labor education is formed in the educational reform and concrete practice of New China.It is the result of the Sinicization of Marxism-Leninism labor education thought,and is the important content and distinctive feature of Mao Zedong’s educational thought.The thought has systematically answered the basic questions such as what is socialist labor education,why to carry out socialist labor education and how to carry out socialist labor education.After the founding of New China,the CPC Central Committee and Mao Zedong adhered to the Marxism-Leninism’s socialist education principle of combining education with productive labor,and gradually built up a socialist labor education system in the process of promoting the construction and development of new China’s educational cause.The core content of Mao Zedong’s thought of socialist labor education is the combination of education and productive labor,theory and practice,mental labor and physical labor,so as to train socialist builders and successors.To combine education with productive labor means to organically integrate labor education into all aspects and the whole process of moral education,intellectual education and physical education.To combine theory with practice means to adapt education to the practical needs of socialist revolution and construction and to the practical needs of training socialist builders and successors.In the concrete practice,the thought mainly through opening production labor education courses,and to implement the work-study system,as well as the establishment of school factories and participation in off-campus labor,to make students establish Marxist labor view,realize that socialist labor is labor without distinction of rank or rank,train students to love labor and the working people of the socialist labor attitude,labor habits and labor emotion,master the basic labor skills to meet the needs of survival and labor ability to serve the national construction.Although late in the socialist construction,this thought has had the deviation,but we must be guided by the historical materialism methodology,distinguish the main aspect of Mao Zedong’s educational thought science system from the secondary aspect of his personal thought,and correctly understand the position of Mao Zedong’s thought of socialist labor education in the development history of Marxist educational thought and its positive contribution to the development of socialist education in New China,and draw wisdom from it to provide beneficial reference for strengthening socialist labor education in the new era.Labor is the source of power to create all material and spiritual wealth,the basic driving force to promote the continuous development of human society,and the basic way for people to achieve development and perfection.Hard work,diligence and courage are the outstanding cultural genes of the Chinese nation and a magic weapon for the Chinese people to overcome all difficulties.After the founding of the People’s Republic of China,it became the consensus of the whole society to advocate and honor labor.Labor education as an important content has been brought into the national education system,it has become an important component of socialist education,and has achieved remarkable results in practice.But in recent years,labor education has been gradually diluted and marginalized,no matter in school,family or society,labor education is generally placed in the field of indifference.In the "Five educations" of morality,intelligence,physique,beauty and labor,the shortcomings of labor education are more and more prominent,and become an urgent problem to be solved in the development of socialist education.The lack of labor education has a negative effect on the formation of correct values and outlook on life of teenagers.As a result,young people lack recognition of the socialist labor values that honor,revere,advocate,and love labor and working people.Then there have emerged undesirable phenomena that they do not cherish the fruits of labor,do not want to work,do not know how to work,and even despise labor,despise manual labor,and do not respect ordinary workers,as well as the wrong ideas of something for nothing,seeking pleasure and advocating sudden wealth.Therefore,strengthening labor education among college,middle school and primary school students has become a major realistic problem to be urgently solved in the reform and development of education in the new era,and it is also the common responsibility of the whole society.Based on the realistic problems,this paper makes an in-depth study of Mao Zedong’s thought of socialist labor education in order to provide certain theoretical guidance and practical experience for strengthening labor education in the new era.The paper makes a comprehensive analysis and summary of Mao Zedong’s thought of socialist labor education from its theoretical origin,forming background,historical evolution,system structure and basic characteristics,and tries to sort out and elaborate the thought from the macroscopic,medium and micro perspectives.On the basis of deep understanding and grasping Mao Zedong’s strategic thinking on the reform and development of the socialist educational cause in New China,as well as exploration of the Sinicization of Marxism-Leninism thought about the combination of education and productive labor,finally formed the historical process of the thought of socialist labor education,tries to dig into the contemporary value of the thought,so as to further enrich the Marxist educational thought system in theory,and provide important experience and inspiration for solving the contradictions and problems existing in the implementation of labor education in the new era in practice.To strengthen labor education in the new era,we should draw experience and wisdom from Mao Zedong’s thought of socialist labor education,combine the characteristics of the new era,and base on the needs of building a modern socialist country in an all-round way.We should not only correctly handle the relationship between mental labor and physical labor,but also make labor education run through the whole process of talent training.Moreover,it should be integrated with the education of moral,intellectual,physical and
