This article is a special study of Arendt’s political ethics thought."Love of the world" as an ideological clue runs through Arendt’s early and later works, constituting a decisive feature of her political philosophy and the foundation of her political and ethical thoughts.A direct evidence is that Arendt tried to call his representative work of political theory " Amor Mundi "(Love of the World),which later became "The Human Condition".Living in such a "dark age",Arendt saw and experienced various disasters and difficulties in the modern world, but she did not shrink back, but fought against it philosophically, and still chose to participate in public life in action.Actively“love of the world.”Arendt’s thinking about the world stems from her diagnosis of the modern world. She saw that technological control was compressing the space of human political life, people were constantly alienated from the world, people were becoming more and more indifferent to political life, and the world was undergoing a comprehensive alienation.Even in the face of the terrible political conditions during and after the war,Arendt was still concerned about political life and believed that as citizens we have the responsibility to reconstruct the broken political space in order to restore the prosperity of the public sphere in the past."Love of the world" expresses Arendt’s firm and persistent attitude towards the world,as well as her strong concern for people’s real survival, which is full of love for the world.Arendt’s "love of the world" thought has profound theoretical origins and has gone through intensive logical argumentation.First of all, with the help of Augustine’s questioning of how "neighbor love" is possible,Arendt clarified that "love" has the function of maintaining the relationship between individuals and the community, and gave "love" a social connotation. In her interpretation of the political life of ancient Greek city-states and Aristotle’s thoughts on political friendship,Arendt determined the important position of "friendship" in political life, and then explored the political connotation of "friendship." Based on the interpretation of the above two kinds of "love",Arendt’s "world love" is gradually justified. It is described as a love that occurs in the public realm,a love for the world, not for human beings.Love."world love" is the link between the individual and the public realm, the motivation for citizens to participate in political life, and the political commitment to the "plurality" of human existence. It expresses a concern and responsibility for the common world of mankind.Secondly, drawing on the political experience of ancient Greek city-states and combining it with the current human survival situation in the world,Arendt strictly defined the private sphere and the public sphere, distinguished between labor, work and action, and pointed out the activities that occur in the public sphere.Action is the only activity that has political significance, while labor and work are "pre-political." Political life can function well when labor, work and action maintain a reasonable order and when the private, social and public realm have independent checks and balances.Thirdly,Arendt emphasized that thinking and judgment in spiritual life also play a political role, and they can effectively prevent individuals from committing political evil when major crises occur in political life. However,if the action, thinking and judgments that constitute the "trinity" are to jointly contribute to the revitalization of the public sphere, they still need the cooperation of an ideal political system. Finally,Arendt praised a kind of political revolution in her revolutionary theory and envisioned putting her political theory into practice by constructing a republican system of committees to ensure that people can return to their authentic political life.Based on this, this article has reason to understand "love of the world" as the theoretical summary and overall practice of Arendt’s political thought, and the "world love" elaborated in it is the ethical core of the "love of the world" political thought. The innovation of this article is to give "Amor mundi" dual connotations.First,it defines "love of the world" as the overall practical program of Arendt’s political and ethical thought, rather than just treating it as a reflection of Arendt’s personal life experience.Literary summary.Arendt always wanted to find a bond of civic life to overcome the loss of the public sphere in modern society and rebuild a common world.By critically examining different types of human "love",she finally established "loving the world" as a way to realize her political thoughts outside of violence and revolution. This may be the "reconciliation" Arendt finally achieved with the modern world.".Secondly,the article believes that "Amor mundi" is a kind of "world love" revealed in Arendt’s "love of the world" political thought. It is different from sympathy, fraternity, love and other personal loves, and is a kind of love that leads to the political world.Love has social and political connotations. It is the public link of political life and can promote people to participate in the common world life. Therefore,it essentially constitutes the ethical core of Arendt’s political thought.
