Research On Xiushui Poetry School In The Qing Dynasty

The Xiushui School of Poetry,which took Qian Zai as its professional aim,was a flourishing poetry school in the middle of Qing Dynasty.It was composed of several cultural families surrounding Qian family in Jiaxing,and its poems were rich in existence and lasted for a long time.It was not only an important hub for the development of Zhejiang poetics,but also a representative of Qianjia poetry circle with far-reaching influence.They took Du Fu,Han Yu and Huang Tingjian as the main patriarchal objects,changed the direction of the poetry circle,and became the beginning of the modern Song poetry school.Based on the literature analysis,this paper attempts to solve the relevant disputes in the academic circle through the macroscopic investigation and case study of the formation and related literary activities of the Xiushui Poetry School,in order to present the real panorama of the Xiushui Poetry School.The Xiushui School of Poetry developed from the regional poetry foundation laid by Zhu Yizun and others in the early Qing Dynasty,and its members were more than 30 people.As a school of poetry based on region and marriage,it is endowed with the characteristics of space and time.By taking into account the locations of Yaji-sung harmony,including the hometown Xiushui,the capital teacher and the poet’s boat and car,it is revealed that in a series of interactive processes,Xiushui Poetry School develops and expands with the help of literary activities,incubates and spreads the concept of poetry,and expands the influence of poetry school itself.The most outstanding literary achievement of the Xiushui School of Poetry lies in its exploration of the ancestral heritage,which in essence can integrate and utilize the resources of classical poetry to the greatest extent and open up a new poetic landscape.In the process of development,there is one bright line and three dark lines:the bright main positive,the dark main changing,they deduce each other.The main line of Zhejiang poetics is the basic tendency of "Zong Song,main character and emphasis on learning",which lays the basic background of Xiushui.The dark line is generated on this basis: One continued the path of Song poetry,while weakening the wild color since the early Qing Dynasty,the poet was able to devote himself to the art of poetry,and broke through the barrier of Song poetry to the broader garden of classical poetry under the appeal of improving the art of poetry.The second is to maintain the "right disposition" and "self-disposition",and to affirm and encourage the expression of the poet’s personality under the premise of internalizing the tradition of Confucian poetry teaching and the spirit of classics and righteousness in the heart.The third takes learning as the root,regards the extensive knowledge as the necessary preparation stage of the poet,at the same time,retains the representation of "scholar’s poetry",and combines knowledge into poetry,rather than using poetry to show off knowledge.In addition,compared with The Zhe school with Li E as the banner,The Xingling school with Yuan Mei as the leader,and The Texture school with Weng Fanggang as the chief in Yongzheng and Qianlong poetry circles,the success and failure of Xiushui Poetry School and its literary history value can be fully presented.Qian Zai played a vital role in connecting the members of the poetry school,leading the direction of the poetry school,participating in group activities,and following the poetry school.Together with Qian Chenqun and Jin Deying,his predecessors in the poetry school,he pointed out the practical path for the creation of the members of the poetry school,and focused on the construction of the poetic theory of the Xiushui School by writing the preface,compiling the collection of dead friends,and criticizing poems.In addition,Wang Youzeng,Zhu Jin,Wan Guangtai and Wang Mengjuan also held a place in the Xiushui School of Poetry by their respective contributions As a self-conscious poetry school,the main members of the Xiushui School show more similarities in their personalities,which are embodied in the three levels of theoretical construction,poetics and poetry practice,which together constitute the unique features of the poetry school.The significance of the study of Xiushui School is not only to discover and summarize its theoretical value,the number of families,artistic characteristics and evolution mode,but more importantly,to reveal the law of literary development contained in it,to explore its important position in the history of Qing Dynasty and even the entire ancient poetry chain,and to further promote the "Xiushui School" from conceptualization to empirical research.
