| Professional identity is the key content of the cultivation of teacher ethics and the important driving force of professional development of music education students in conservatories.The high level of professional identity of music education students in conservatories is a necessary prerequisite for the high-quality development of music teachers in primary and secondary schools in the future.By analyzing the connotation and structure of professional identity of music education majors in conservatories,this study developed appropriate measurement tools,investigated the level of professional identity of music education majors in conservatories with different demographic characteristics,and explored the influencing factors and influencing mechanisms of professional identity of music education majors in conservatories.The purpose of this study is to accurately judge the level of professional identity of music education majors in conservatories,put forward targeted strategies to improve professional identity,and provide countermeasures and scientific basis for improving the training mode of music education talents in conservatories.This study takes students majoring in music education in conservatories and universities as the research object,adopts a mixed research method combining quantitative investigation and qualitative interview,and studies four research questions based on social identity theory and professional identity theory.First,based on the discussion of the connotation of professional identity of music education majors in conservatories,this paper explores the logical structure of professional identity of music education majors in conservatories based on the analysis of relevant literature at home and abroad.Secondly,through literature analysis,focus group interview and Delphi expert method,the initial scale of professional identity of music education students in conservatories is constructed.Statistical analysis methods such as item analysis,exploratory factor analysis and reliability analysis were used to purify the scale and explore its structure.Statistical analysis methods such as confirmatory factor analysis,reliability analysis and validity analysis were used to test the structure and validity of the scale.The scale of professional identity of music education students in conservatories includes four dimensions:professional status,professional intention,professional preparation and professional belonging.Thirdly,using the professional identity scale of music education majors in conservatories to conduct a quantitative survey of music education majors in domestic conservatories.The results show that the overall level of professional identity of music education majors in conservatories is at a medium high level,and the levels of each dimension from high to low are professional preparation,professional belonging,professional status and professional intention.The level of professional identity of music education majors in conservatories has differences in gender,whether they are the only child,grade,whether they have music teacher experience and family monthly income.Fourthly,the qualitative interview method is used to conduct one-to-one in-depth interviews with music education majors in conservatories,and the influencing factors of professional identity of music education majors in conservatories are analyzed by using coding and thematic analysis methods.The combination of different influencing factors can promote or hinder the professional identity of music education students in conservatories.This study draws the following conclusions:Based on social identity theory and professional identity theory,a professional identity scale for music education majors in conservatories is developed,which includes four dimensions:professional status,professional intention,professional preparation and professional belonging.The different levels of professional identity of music education majors in conservatories are measured in four dimensions and the differences in demographic characteristics variables.Then it analyzes seven factors that lead to the difference of professional identity of music education majors in conservatories,such as professional cognition and significant others.The combination of different factors forms the influence mechanism of the professional identity of music education majors in conservatories,that is,under the influence of external factors such as significant others,organizational environment and social and cultural environment,the important experiences of music education majors in conservatories affect their professional cognition,and professional cognition influences their professional identity through professional interest and self-efficacy respectively.According to the research conclusions,this paper further puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions to improve the professional identity level of music education students in conservatories:Cooperate with multiple parties to cultivate strength and enhance students’ professional intention;To set the example of music teachers and attach importance to the professional status of teachers;To shape students’ awareness of the role of teacher and strengthen students’ professional belonging;Support professional development planning and promote students’ professional preparation. |
