Abstract/Summary:
With the increasing demand of the public for mental health workers,the professionalism of mental health related work has become a yardstick to meet the needs and requirements of the public.In terms of mental health-related work,professionalism means more workers’ solid theoretical foundation,professional quality and the unity of knowledge and practice.The individual’s recognition and attitude towards what he has learned or engaged in is the foundation of his specialization.Especially for the applied discipline of psychology,theory is the foundation of tamping his mind,and the recognition from the inside out is the treasure of helping others.Under the background of academic education,psychology postgraduates are experiencing the transformation from academic education to career,and their professional identity determines their future development.According to the relevant survey,it is found that the degree of professional identity of Postgraduates affects their career development and the quality of Postgraduate Education(Li liangxiao,2019;Wang Dingming,2007).Therefore,improving the professional identity of postgraduates majoring in psychology is an important part of promoting their professional development and improving postgraduate education.Based on this,in order to understand the influence of tutor on the professional identity of postgraduates majoring in psychology,this study will develop a questionnaire in line with the current mentor guiding style,so as to more truly and effectively understand the influence characteristics of mentor guiding style on postgraduates majoring in psychology.At the same time,personal growth initiative will be introduced into this study as a moderating variable,trying to explore under what conditions,the mentor guiding style has different effects on the professional identity of postgraduates majoring in psychology,so as to provide strong support for the development of professional identity of postgraduates majoring in psychology.This study is divided into three parts.Firstly,the initial questionnaire is formed through literature,interview and under the guidance of psychological experts.After the project analysis,the reliability and validity are analyzed,and the psychostatistical indicators are good.Finally,the formal questionnaire of tutor’s guidance style is formed.Secondly,according to the research purpose and the main training mode of the research object,418 graduate students with professional degrees in psychology were randomly selected from universities such as Capital Normal University,Hebei Normal University and Suzhou University in North China,East China and Northeast China.In this paper,two-year study subjects are the main subjects,and 83 valid data of three-year graduation grades are collected for comparative study.The self-made Mentor Guiding Style Questionnaire,College Students’ Professional Identity Questionnaire and Personal Growth Initiative Questionnaire are used to investigate the current situation and characteristics of their mentors’ guiding style,professional identity and personal growth initiative.Then discuss the relationship among three variables: mentor guiding style,professional identity and personal growth initiative,and finally draw the following conclusions:First,the questionnaire of mentor guiding style,which consists of 20 questions,includes three dimensions: support and emotion,control and reason,laissez faire and neglect,and has good reliability and validity.Second,the postgraduates of psychology major degree generally experience more support,control guidance style,among which the third grade postgraduates experience more support,control guidance style than other grades;compared with female tutors,male tutors show more laissez faire and neglect guidance style,less support and control guidance style.Thirdly,on the whole,the professional identity of psychology degree postgraduates shows a medium to high level,and compared with boys,girls are significantly higher in affectivity,appropriateness and total score.At the same time,the third grade subjects’ professional identity level is significantly higher than other grades.Fourth,the individual growth initiative of psychology graduate students is in the middle level.With the increase of graduate grade,the level of personal growth initiative is significantly improved.Fifthly,support guidance style and control guidance style can significantly positively predict the development of professional identity of psychology degree postgraduates,while laissez faire and neglect guidance style can significantly negatively predict the development of professional identity of psychology degree postgraduates.Further analysis shows that personal growth initiative has a significant moderating effect between the two,with high personal growth initiative can enhance the positive influence of support guidance style and control guidance style on professional identity,and also can alleviate the negative influence of laissez faire and neglect guidance style on professional identity.
