The mountain minorities in southern China have a long history of recognition and utilization of Mujiangzi, thus forming a unique "aroma" culture, which makes Mujiangzi become a special symbol of local ethnic self-identification or inter-ethnic identity. However, due to historical, natural and social reasons,Mujiangzi and its aroma culture were only "exclusive" within the mountain minorities in southern China for a long time, growing quietly in the deep mountains in the south without being recognized by the outside world. With the change of times, the communication between ethnic groups has been increasingly close, and Mujiangzi has gained the opportunity to be recognized and recognized by more ethnic groups and entered the market as a commodity.Especially under the rapid push of industrialization and globalization,Mujiangzi has occupied a place in the international spice market. However, during this process, the aroma culture of Mujiangzi changed greatly. In the way of use, after entering the market, the wood ginger seed is no longer used to treat or prevent diseases, nor is it used for daily cooking or food preservation.Instead,it is specially separated into a variety of chemical components such as citral and used as raw materials for industrial products such as artificial flavor. In terms of cognitive mode,it is no longer a sacred thing for strengthening the body, combining medicine and food in traditional concepts, nor is it a thing for spiritual and spiritual sustenance, but is generally default as a tool for obtaining economic benefits. In addition,it can be seen from behind the separation phenomenon presented by the culture of Mujiangshixiang that not only the above changes in people’s cognition and utilization of Mujiangshixiang, but also the difficulties faced by the local ethnic group and society in the face of modernization, which are manifested in cultural, ecological, economic and social sustainable development and other problems.Because in the long history of run-in,the aroma culture of Mujiangensis has become an important part of the culture of the ethnic minorities in the mountainous areas of South China. The recognition and utilization of Mujiangensis is the result of the adaptation of the local ethnic groups to their ecological and social environment. It contains local peoples’ understanding of the relationship between themselves and nature, the interaction between local peoples and external groups, and the values, cultural preferences and social status of local peoples. Therefore, the "aroma" history of Mujiangzi is closely related to the development history of the southern mountain ethnic group. From the perspective of culture, the aroma culture of Mujiangzi is not only the creation of the local social masses, but also affects the thoughts and behaviors of the local social groups.Mujiangzi and the southern mountain ethnic groups are mutually defined and constituted. Therefore, the "aroma" of Mujiangzi has special significance and irreplaceable importance to the southern mountain ethnic group, and it has evolved into a symbol of the identity of the southern mountain ethnic group. In the process of modernization, the separation or major transformation of Mujiangzixiang culture undoubtedly means that the southern mountain ethnic group and its local society are also experiencing unprecedented changes. The aroma culture of Mujiangzi partly tells of its importance to the survival of the southern mountain minorities, and partly implies the positive interaction between the southern mountain minorities and their environment. However,in the face of the accelerated development of modernization and globalization, the incense culture of Mujiangzi failed to achieve continuous development. It was blocked by the logical concept of industrial civilization, and the traditional incense could not be found.Instead,it was transformed into soulless market industrial raw materials and sold all over the world. As a result, the "loss" of the important "aroma" of the Mujiang seed also highlights to a certain extent the great impact on the culture of the southern mountain people in the "downhill" and in the tide of modernization. The recognition and cultural confidence of all ethnic groups of their own culture, especially for the minority ethnic groups in the mountainous areas of south China and most of the areas where they are located in the current society are still in the weak position in the post-development area, should be an important prerequisite for the ethnic group to stand on its own feet and achieve development, and the recognition and effective inheritance of the traditional Mujiangzixiang culture is the precious wealth for the continued development of the ethnic group. On the contrary,in the field investigation, the "aroma" culture of Mujiangzi has been running through the daily production and life of local people, but it has not been given due attention because it is too common and subtle.Even in the face of a mountain full of wood ginger, many people only in the industrial civilization of thinking cognitive mode to define its economic value. However, the social activities or social relations formed by the new industrial chain surrounding the plant are doomed to be not very reliable in the face of interests, and will easily collapse with the swing of market interests. The economic value re-endowed by the industrial chain and the industrial civilization behind it is also extremely narrow and unstable, resulting in the neglect of the ecological value, social value, cultural value and historical value of the rich traditional ecological wisdom and inter-ethnic identity that the "aroma" culture of the plant should contain. And in these new social or economic relations,Mujiangzi no longer has the special significance of representing the mountain ethnic group. Therefore,it is urgent to explore the "aroma" culture of Mujiangzi to truly understand its "aroma" culture, especially by interpreting the logic and nature of the unique and irreplaceable independence of Mujiangzi in the mutual definition and composition of Mujiangzi and southern mountain minorities, and repositioning the rich connotation and multi-level value of Mujiangzi "aroma".This is of great value to the local society and the development of the southern mountain ethnic group.
