| In the context of the "opera reform" in early New China,Fujian opera performed strongly from 1949 to 1962.In the early years of liberation,performances by the army and local cultural troupes contributed to the revival of opera performance in Fujian.Through the transplantation and staging of new Peking operas and Yangge operas,the new literary artists carried out the initial transformation of artists and theatrical troupes.After the issuance of the "Fifth Five-Year Directive",the cultural authorities in Fujian summed up the initial experience of the "opera reform" and corrected the deviations.After the founding of New China,the social status of artists changed from "actors" to literary workers,and their social status was upgraded.Participation in artist training classes and opera research classes has enhanced artists’ sense of social responsibility and artistic self-awareness.The provincial and international opera festivals promote exchanges between genres and artists,and help reshape the image of Fujian opera.In terms of "restructuring",Fujian opera troupes have reformed their systems in three areas: artistic production,artist management,and artist training,in accordance with the shape of modern troupes.A director system has been established to ensure the integrity and consistency of performances,democratic reform and registration of troupes to achieve deeper control over numbers and behavior,and the combination of the "troupe-led class" training method and the establishment of opera schools to improve the structure of opera education.In tandem with the national cultural heritage organization work,Fujian has achieved remarkable results in excavating and organizing traditional repertoire,and the role of old artists has been emphasized.In the context of revolutionary narratives,the adaptation of plays such as Refining the Seal,Spring Grass Breaks into the Hall,Six Leaving the Gate,Lady City,After the Reunion,and Ascending to the Third Degree embodies the characteristics of political pragmatism,expressing profound political connotations,new features of literary and artistic dissemination mechanisms,and changes in different realistic creative styles from the perspectives of family and anti-feudalism.During this period,the creation of modern opera in Fujian was attracting attention.After the founding of New China,Fujian modern opera went through a period of recovery,exploration and development.The creative impetus changed from market-driven to politically-led,the revolutionary historical themes deepened the revolutionary degree of the plays,and the stage performances were based on the tradition of singing and dancing while changing appropriately to suit the style of realistic themes.Many factors have given a strong impetus to the modernization process of Fujian opera. |
